The Adventures of Poro the Polar Bear: A Lesson on Self-Control

Poro was having a ball at summer camp. To top it off, his birthday was two weeks away, at the end of camp. He overheard a plan for his surprise birthday party and got excited. Instead of waiting, Poro decided to go ahead with his own plans and an early celebration. He did not speak with his parents. Thankfully, they found out about his plans and stopped him in his tracks.

Poro learned a lesson on exercising self-control. Had his plans come through, Poro would have missed out on some fantastic surprises that were in store.

Anna Paul wrote this book at 8 years old as a piece of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. This is a great lesson for children in self-control, one knowing how to speak to an adult before making decisions that will cost them or those they love.
